Tuesday, May 31, 6pm, JTG vs. 99

Tim started the home team off by pitching and although during the inning 3 runs scored, Tim threw 3 strikeouts. At the bottom of the 1st inning, Jared started us off with a triple and Adam a sac fly to send Jared home for the only run scored this inning for JTG. AJ pitched the 2nd inning. The first out was made by AJ (pop fly to pitcher). After 2 batters walked and advanced on an overthrow, many players of 99 scored with multiple singles. We were able to secure an out on third because of an overthrow followed by a strikeout to retire the side. Nick B. started off the bottom of the 2nd inning with a single to center field. Sean followed with a solid single and Joey and Ryan walked (which also walked in a run). Ryan S. reached first on a fielders choice where another run was able to score. Jared had a sac fly which advanced the runners and both Ryans made it home on an overthrow. Adam walked and AJ had a single. Tim singled, driving in a run, Nick followed suit with a single driving in a run as well. Sean singled again driving in a run and the inning ended after 12 batters came to the plate to tie the game 8-8.
AJ walked the first batter at the top of the third and struck out the next three batters in order. Ryan L. singled and advanced to third, but was left there as the next three batters got out. In the top of the 4th Sean pitched to one batter and Adam came into pitch a fabulous and very defensively sound game. At the halfway mark of the inning the score was 10-8, with 99 in the lead. Tim had a single, Nick B. grounded out but advanced Tim to second. The final out was a ground out leaving Tim stranded on second. In the top of the 5th inning, the first three batters went down in a row. Nick W. had a good eye and was able to secure a walk. Jared had a single and Adam doubled bringing Nick W. home advancing the score 10-9 with 99 still in the lead.
At the top of the 6th, the 99 started off with a triple, a pop fly out, a sac fly where a run scored, and finally a ground out to advance the score 11-9 in their favor. Nick B., our second batter had a solid hit but was tagged out at third, what an effort he made though. With two outs on the board, Sean singled, Joey singled and advanced to third base, driving in a run. Ryan L. singled driving in another run to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth inning.
In the top of the 7th inning, after 8 pm, Nick B. caught a pop fly at second for the first out and Adam was able to secure two strikeouts to maintain a tie game. Jared popped out to center field. Adam walked and AJ hit a double. Tim was the final batter and singled, driving in the winning run, advancing the final score 11 to 12, with a victory for JTG! What a well played game and a true team effort to maintain third place in the major's league!

Saturday, May 28, 6pm JTG vs. Daily Gazette

As the visitors, we had the first at bat. Although the first two batters popped out and grounded out, AJ was able to secure a double to start us off. Tim hit a single and advanced to second, and Nick B. singled and advanced to third while two runs scored. The third out was another pop fly, leaving the score 2-0, JTG in the lead. AJ was out pitcher for the evening and the first batter had a solid hit to right, but was thrown out at second with the teaming of Sean as the right fielder and Nick B., our second baseman. Following a single, Adam took his fielders choice to get the out at second. The final out was a pop fly. Joey started the 2nd inning off with a solid double to center field. The next two batter went down on strikes and Jared had a single. The final out was a ground out to the pitcher leaving the score 2-0. AJ only allowed a single sending the other three batter back to the dugout with strikeouts. In the third inning, our three batters popped out in a row. The first DG hitter, got a triple. The third batter singled driving in a run and the other batters struck out or grounded out bringing us into the 4th inning. Sean started us off with a solid double then advanced to third on an overthrow. Nick W. was hitch by a pitch following a strikeout. Nick advance to second on an overthrow. Shane singled driving in a run and was able to be aggressive and advance to second on an overthrow. Jared hit a triple and also was aggressive by stealing home making our score advance 6-1. Adam singled and advanced to second and Mike walked. The other JTG players grounded out to retire the side. DG started off with double and a strikeout with their third batter reaching first on an error. Adam came into pitch and struck out the first batter. The following two batters hit a double and single. JTG fought back and secured the ground out and a solid defensive play at home by Joe, tagging out the runner at home plate. At the bottom of the 4th, the score was 6-4. In the 5th inning, Sean started us off with a triple and was left on third for the remainder of the offensive inning. The second DG batter hit a solo home run advancing the score 6-5. In the 6th inning, Jared started us off with a triple and Adan singled driving Jared home. AJ doubled and eventually stole home. Tim singled driving in Adam and Tim was also able to advance to second and eventually stole home. Nick B. made a nice sac fly to center field. Joey was able to walk and stole second. The final out was a pop fly to center field, yet the score advanced 10-5. What a great team effort that inning to secure those extra runs! The first three DG batters went down in a row to leave the score 10-5. What a great team effort for a well deserved victory over DG. Again, Ryan S.'s grandma won the 50/50!

Friday, May 27, 6pm, JTG vs. Elks

Tim was our pitcher for this mild evening but there was no contending with the hitting, offense, and defense of the Elks. In the 4th inning, Adam came into pitch and Taylor of the Elks hit a two run home run as the third batter. AJ  as our shortstop got an ground out at second and caught a pop fly to retire the side. In the bottom of the 4th after Jared was hit by a pitch and advanced to second, the following three batters went down on strikes. In the 5th inning our defense was strong, but we still could not get a hit. Tim made a ground out as first base, Ryan S. came into pitch and allowed for a strikeout, a walk, and a final strikeout. Although Nick B. and Ryan L. walked this inning, the other batters made a ground out and went down on strikes. The sixth inning started off positive for JTG with a ground out to AJ at shortstop. Then one of the Lambert boys from the Elks, hit a solo home run. Following the next batter, another Elks player got a two-run home run and two batters later another double was hit. Ryan S. was able to secure a strikeout, a walk, and a strikeout to retire our defensive side. In the bottom of the 6th, JTG went down with a strikeout, a pop fly, and a ground out to end the game 9-0. Congratulations to Ryan Lambert of the Elks for his no hitter!  On a positive note, Ryan S.'s grandma won the 50/50!

Sunday, May 22, 9 am, JTG vs. JMS

This game was fought in seesaw fashion and a true game to have seen. In the first inning Adam and Tim both had singles, but no one scored. Adam was our starting pitcher this morning and had two strikeouts following a walk to start off our game. Rickie of JMS hit a 2 run home run off the scoreboard to begin the game 0-2. Ryan L. walked, but all other batters struck out at the plate. Adam struck out three batters in a one-two-three style rotation with JTG down by 2. At the top of the 3rd,  Adam singled, AJ tripled driving home Adam. Joey was hit by a pitch and on Sean's pop out the runners advanced on an overthrow making the score 1-2.  Following a walk, a strikeout and a walk with JMS advancing their runners on a passed ball, a single drove in another run for JMS. JMS reaches first base on an error while another runs scores. Finally a strikeout ended the inning. Shane walked and Jared starts off the 4th inning with a double. Adam's double drives in two runs and AJ's single advances Adam to third base. AJ steals second and Tim walks to first. Although Joey pops the ball for an out, Adam is able to score on an overthrow and the runners advance. The score is now tied 5 to 5. In the bottom of the 4th, Adam throws two strikeouts before AJ enters to pitch. AJ throws the third strikeout to end the inning. The fifth inning was short and bittersweet where JTG players went down three in a row with two ground outs and a strikeout. JMS fought hard and the score at the end of the inning was 5-7; JMS in the lead. At the top of the sixth inning, Jared singled and Adam doubled bringing Jared home to score. AJ tripled on an error and was able to make it home on an overthrow. Tim singled and Joey made it to first on a fielder's choice allowing for the out at second base. Nick B. singled but the runners were left on base with a pop fly and strikeout where JTG was in the lead 8-7. JMS came into the bottom of the sixth fighting hard with two walks and a strikeout. JMS player Terry singled driving in two runs to end the game 8-9, JMS. Keep positive boys and be proud of your accomplishments on the field and know you fought hard to win.

Saturday, May 21st, 2011, 2pm JTG vs. Vellano Bros.

Tim C. was our starting pitcher on this sunny day and he only gave up two runs in the top of the first inning. Offensively, 18 batters came to the plate. Although it was a great team effort, a noteworthy mention was our 9th batter, Ryan S. who doubled to the left center field fence driving in three runs. The final score after the first inning was 14-2. In the top of the 2nd, Tim had three strikeouts to retire the side. Offensive moves to advance the score to 16-2: Adam walked, AJ, Nick B. and Tim singled, and Sean also singled driving in two runs. In the third inning, with Cramer still on the mound, Nick B made a quick out on the second batter. Jared N. caught a line drive as shortstop to make the second out, and stepped on second base to make a final out of the game, yet continued the ball by throwing it to first getting the batter thrown out, and if there were four outs, that would have been the fourth or a would be triple play. Mike P. walked and made it to second on a pass ball. Nick W.  also walked. Jared singled, AJ doubled driving in two runs, and Tim drove a ball at the pitcher which brought  in two more runs. In the 4th inning, Shane had his pitching debut. Jared caught a line drive and Tim got the ball in right field and threw the runner out at first. What a great long and fast throw! At the end of the inning the score was 20-2. Ryan L. was out 5th inning pitcher. The first batter singled, but the second batter grounded to the pitcher, where Ryan L. made the double play. The final out was a strikeout. Great work Ryan L.! AJ had a solo home run, Tim and Joey walked, and Nick B. and Ryan L. singled to end the inning with the score 22-2. In the 6th inning, Nick B. came into pitch. The first batter doubled and advanced to third, although a throw to Adam at third got the runner out a third as he went off the bag and was tagged out. Next,  AJ caught a pop fly. The final out of the game was a pop fly to Tim in right. Final score 22-2, great job boys, we are back on the winning side! Congratulations!

Saturday, May 14th, 2011, 8 pm JTG vs. VFW

AJ began as our starting pitcher with a strikeout and a walk. The third batter tripled driving in a run. The next player popped to Nick B. and he player on third stole home successfully. Following a walk, there was a strikeout to retire the side. Jared walked, Adam singled, and AJ walked. The next three batters were a strikeout, a fielders choice where they got the force at home and a pop out to the pitcher to end the first inning. The first batter of the second inning was hit by a pitch, yet was tagged out by Jared on an attempted steal to second. After a strikeout and two walks, Adam came into pitch and was able to make a strikeout for the third out. Ryan S. singled and stole second. Mike grounded to the pitcher advancing Ryan to third who in turn successfully stole home for our first run scored. At the end of the inning, the score was 2-1. After a line to second and a triple, VFW had a single which brought in another run. The batter then stole second on an overthrow. Adam had a strikeout, a walk, a single, a walked which brought in another run and a ground out to second. AJ, our second batter had a nice double and Tim singled driving in AJ. After two strikeouts, the score was 4-2 in VFW's favor. Defensively we had a strikeout, allowed a single, a pop fly was caught and a ground out to the pitcher retied the side. Nick B. got a single, Ryan L. grounded out to advance Nick B. Joey singled driving in a run. Adam singled then stole second and Joey stole third on an overthrow. The inning ended with a ground out to second and the score 4-3. In the fifth inning, Adam had three consecutive strikeouts and some noise was heard from the fans for his defense and Tim's solo home run, which is his second for the season. Nick B. was able to walk and steal second, but the rest of out batters went down on strikes tying the game 4-4. VFW had a single, bunted single, a walk, another single which drove in a run, a strikeout, and Joey tagged out a runner and a final strikeout to end the defensive side. Following a ground out, Jared had a single and so did Adam, the final two batters went down on a pop to the pitcher and a fielder's choice to end the game, 5-4, our fourth loss! Keep positive boys and give it your all!

Wednesday, May 11th, 2011 6pm JTG vs. EHC

As the home team, Tim started off as our pitcher for this warm evening. EHC had a double to left, a triple driving in a run, a single driving in a run, a single who advanced to second and drove in a run for the first four batters. Tim struck out the next batter, there was a line out to Tim and a tag out at second by Tim to retire the side. Busy inning for Tim! Following a strikeout, Adam reached first on an error and stole second base on a pitching overthrow. Sean singled and stole second and Tim grounded out to first, yet drove in a run. The final batter struck out to end the inning 3-1. The Second inning defense was short and sweet with three consecutive strikeouts by Tim. Nick singled and Ryan L. singled and stole second while Nick stole third. The following batters struck out to end the inning. In the third inning, the batter grounded out to Tim, the second batter walked and was tagged out on an attempted steal. The third batter doubled. The final batter lined out to Tim. On to the offense: Following a strikeout, Sean grounded out to third and Tim to short stop. In the fourth inning, Tim allowed a single and a walk before three quick strikeouts. Joey grounded out to first, Nick struck out and Mike popped out to first to leading us into the fifth inning. Tim had an initial strikeout and then came a double who advanced to third. The third batter singled, driving in a run and a line drive to Adam at shortstop who threw to Ryan L. at first to make the second out. Nick W. caught a pop fly to right field to retire the side. Great job Nick! Jared doubled and the three other batters struck out. After two strikeouts and a walk, Adam came into pitch. He threw a strikeout to finish EHC. After two ground outs and a strike out, the game ended 5-1, our third loss.

Sunday, May 10, 2011 JTG vs. 99 10 am

As the visiting team our first three batters went down with a strikeout, a ground out, and a pop fly. Sean C. started off pitching to four batters bringing in his brother Tim with two strikeouts  and a run walked in with a final score of 3-0 with 99 leading at the end of the first inning. Tim started off the second inning with a walk and stole second on an overthrow. Sean had a double bringing in a run. Sean attempted to steal home but got tagged out. Nick singled and stole third as Ryan S. walked. Tim walked one batter then had three strikeouts to end the inning 3-1. In the third inning, Jared singled, Adam grounded out, although he advanced the runner, and AJ grounded out. Our final out was an aborted attempt at stealing. Defensively, Ryan L. caught a fly ball to center and Tim had two stikeouts. In the fourth inning, Tim made it to first on an error, Sean walked and Mike P. grounded out, yet advanced the runners into scoring position. Nick B. singled. A popfly and double play retired the side. Nick B. pitched the 4th inning. He walked 2 players, the next player had a double driving in a run, the next player grounded to Adam, although a run scored. There was another overthrow where a run scored, a single to centerfield, and a 3 run homerun over the centerfield fence by Abel from the 99. The final out was a popfly to Nick B. to end the inning 11-1. In the fifth inning our first three batters went down in a row. Ryan S. had his pitching debut. The first batter managed a single. Ryan L. tagged out the runner on an attempted steal to second base. The second out was made by Tim on a popfly to center field. The final out of the inning was made by Mike P. who caught a popfly. The sixth inning was short. Ryan L. walked, Tim hit a fielder's choice, and singled where Ryan L. was out at second base. Following a strikeout Mike P. singled and there was another strikeout to end the game. Final score 99 had 12 runs and  JTG had 1, our second loss. Hope all mothers have a Happy Mother's Day! We are proud of our boys.

Saturday, May 7, 2011 JTG vs. Daily Gazette 6pm

Tim C. started off as our opening pitcher with 2 strike outs and a ground ball to AJ who threw the runner out at first. Offensively, Adam T. made a drive to third base, AJ walked and Tim singled and advanced to first driving in AJ to make the score 1-0 at the bottom of the first inning. Ryan L. made his majors pitching debut. After two runs scored, AJ was brought in and made two strikeouts and Sean caught the fly ball to end the inning. Sean had a solo home run over the left centerfield fence! Following Sean, two ground outs and a strikeout retired the side. The third inning was our defensive and offensive inning.  AJ had  one strikeout, a ground ball was hit to Adam for the second out, and pop fly to Tim at first base was the third out. Jared and Adam both singled, AJ walked and Sean tripled bringing in 3 runs. He was then able to steal home. Nick B. singled and Shane walked before our last out, leaving the score 4-2. In the 4th inning, one ground out was made by Jared at third base, and two groundouts were made by Nick B. at second base. AJ singled, but offensively we had two ground outs and a pop fly that was caught. In the 5th inning, Nick B. pitched and had three strikeouts. Joey walked and Sean singled. The inning ended with a pop fly, a strikeout and a tag out at first. The sixth inning kept us fans on the edge of our seats. Adam came into pitch (Enter Sandman was playing)  and the first batter doubled to centerfield and stole to third base. The second batter was struck out. The third batter grounded out to Sean at first, yet a run was driven in. The next batter was able to make it to first base on an error by the centerfielder and advanced to second on an interference call by the umpire. The next batter was able to also reach first base on an error advancing the tying run to third base. The final batter struckout to end the game with another victory for JTG against DG 6-5.

Saturday April 20 6pm JTG vs. JMS

With the nice sunny evening and warmer temperatures, JTG were ready to fight and win. Adam started us off as our pitcher with two strike outs. Ryan L. made a nice play in right field by sending the ball home to cut off a run. AJ headed off a line drive allowing only two runs to score for the first inning. On the offense, Jared was able to make it to second on an error from his pop fly, Adam also made it to second on an error, which brought home Jared. AJ walked and Sean tripled bringing in two runs to tie the game. In the 2nd inning, Adam had three strikeouts in a row, short and sweet. Although our players tried their best, we had a stikeout and two ground outs to end the inning. The 3rd inning was a busy one, with Tim making the play at first, Ryan L. catching a flyout to right field and Nick making a fielder's choice at second. Zach T. from JMS had a solo home run to left field! Adam walked and Tim doubled bringing home Adam. Joe walked and Sean singled, but Tim was tagged out at third. The inning ended 4-3, JTG in lead. In the 4th inning, AJ made an out on a ground ball as shortstop, Nick made an out at second by tagging the runner and Adam had a strikeout. Our offense went down with two strikeouts and a ground out. In the 5th inning, Adam still was pitching strong and had one stikeout. There was a pop fly to Nick B. at second base and a hit to centerfield  by JMS tied the game on an error. Jared was able to get the last out at 3rd to retire the side. AJ singled and stole to second, there were two ground outs and a play at third on a stolen base that lead us into the next inning. In the 6th inning, JMS made a gorundout to AJ as pitcher and two pop outs to first made by Tim to hold our defense. Shane started us off with a single hit to left field, Nick B. singled, Ryan L. walked and the inning ended with a groundout to third sending us into a tie-breaking inning. AJ made two strikeouts and a ground ball to Nick B. at second retired the defense. Adam started off the 7th inning by getting hit by a pitch and being sent to first base. He then stole second. AJ grounded out advancing Adam to third base. Tim singled sending Adam home and ended the inning and game with a victory over JMS 5-4. What a well played game and a true team effort!

Thursday April 28th 6pm JTG vs. ELKS

Tim started the first inning off with a strikeout and only gave up one run. On the offense, Adam and AJ had nice singles yet left the score at 1-0 Elks. In the 2nd inning Tim had another stike out on the defense. Sean and Shane were able to get on base with singles, but the Elks had a strong defense and ended the inning. In the 3rd inning, Tim had two stikeouts and Adam made an out at first for our defense. Adam hit a double but was the only player to make it on base. In the 4th inning, Tim had two stike outs and a fly ball was caught by AJ leaving the score at 2-0 Elks. Our first three batters went down with 2 strikeouts and a groundout. The 5th inning was short with Tim having three strikeouts in a row, yet the ELKS stuck out our three the same way. The 6th inning AJ came into pitch and had one strikeout and Jared had an out at second base, although the Elks brought in some more runs. Ryan S. had a single, with no other player making it on base. The final score was 5-0, ELKS Victory, our first loss.
