Sunday, June 5th, 12 pm, JTG vs. ELKS

What a game a great victory for JTG and a true team effort was put forth to fight and win! Adam started us off with a single in the first inning, but no others players had a hit. Sean was our five inning pitcher on this Sunday morning and pitched an outstanding game. In the bottom of the 1st, only one Elk player came home.
In the 2nd inning, the JTG players went down in a row with two strikeouts and a ground out to second. Our defense was strong and Sean was able to secure a strikeout, there was a ground out and a pop caught by Joey as catcher to end the second inning.
In the 3rd inning, JTG pulled ahead. Nick B. is on a hitting streak and singled and stole second on an overthrow. Adam singled with his new bat and advanced Nick B. to third base. Tim singled driving home Nick B. and Sean singled and advanced to third base driving in 2 runs, advancing the score to 3-1 with JTG in the lead. In the bottom of the third inning, Ryan L. made a diving catch for a line drive at first to secure the first out of the inning. Ryan S. made a ground out at third and Sean made the third out by striking out the batter.
In the top of the 4th inning Shane singled, but was left on first. In the bottom of the inning, Sean struck out two batters and Adam caught a pop fly to shortstop.
The fifth inning was active for both teams. Nick B. walked. Tim grounded out yet advanced Nick to second base. Sean singled and drove in a run. In the bottom of the 5th Sean struck out the first batter, Ryan Lambert had a solo home run, Adam got the runner out at second on a fielder's choice, and the final out was a ground out to Shawn,  advancing the score 4-2 with JTG continuing in the lead.
In the top of the 6th inning, Ryan L. walked and Shane singled. Nick B. walked and Ryan L. made it home on an overthrow. Adam singled and advanced to second, but was left on base. In the bottom of the 6th inning, Ryan S. was our pitcher. The first batter singled and advance to second base on an overthrow. The next batter grounded out and the runner advanced to third. Ryan struck out two more batters to end the game, JTG 7 and ELKS 2. JTG played with a team effort, a positive attitude, and smiles! Congratulations to the JTG team. Congratulations to Adam, the Colonie Little League player of the week from our JTG team! Way to make us shine and set a positive example for us all!
